Review
A much tighter game than had been foreseen and a poor Celtic and it wasn't till the 39th minute that Bobby Lennox scored the first goal. In the second half Hay of Clyde, who had recently stepped up from the amateurs with Queen's Park, tried his luck through a ruck of players and the unsighted Fallon missed the shot. With it all square on goals the contest became even on the pitch. Three minutes after Hay's goal Celtic were awarded a penaly which the Clyde players protested strongly against and Hay had his name taken. Tommy Gemmell blasted the ball well wide. However seven minutes later Lennox got the second and a tough contest then followed to the final whistle.
