Trivia

- The ground was super-crowded for the game.
- The game was held up for three minutes in the second half when bottles and beer cans were thrown onto the pitch following an offside decision against Celtic on 70 minutes..
Review
Harry Hood scored an early goal for Celtic which was cancelled out by future Celtic player, Dixie Deans strike on 38 minutes. This was against the run of play and Celtic had had many chances to be further ahead in the first half but had failed to take any of them.
With all to play for both teams went after it in the second half. Then followed the bottle throwing. But four minutes after this Bertie Auld sent over a cross that John Hughes headed home.
There was more disturbance at the end of the game on the terracing.
