Review
Played on a Sunday due to torrential rain causing the game to be postponed 24 hours earlier.
Played again in Canadian National Exhibition Centre, attendance 8,138.
Jock Stein left the ground after 68 minutes to catch an early flight home to attend to some business and have his troublesome ankle examined.
Referee Reg Clark ordered Spalazzi off in 75 minutes and caused a great commotion. Spalazzi went off after a long delay but Loseto was also sent off in 78 minutes. Bari put on substitute Colombo who was also sent off in 85 minutes as the game descended into a farce.
Referee Clark then gave Celtic a penalty for a push on Jim Craig when both Jim and the ball were out of play!
Muccini led the Bari players (what was left of them) off the field in protest. Clark and the Celtic players hung about for a few minutes and a Bari official begged Auld, the penalty taker, to miss or there would be murder. The referee picked up the ball and departed the field and Celtic players followed him.
Bari then came back but the referee refused to continue and the match was abandoned.
