Review
Jock Stein took the opportunity in the second half to give Euro debuts to two of his young stars Paul Wilson and Vic Davidson who both managed to score.
Johnstone was in tremendous form and the crowd loved his repertoire of tricks although the game was very one sided. Celtic looked very smart in their new all yellow strip as the Finns were wearing their green amd white jerseys with a huge 'K' badge.
With 20 minutes left Celtic fans thought the team were going to break the club record win of 11-0 and if they had wanted to they probably could have. It was only when Celtic went down the gears that Kokkola showed any attacking prowess and their only decent shot came from Lamberg in 86 minutes.
The media next day were full of praise for Paul Wilson who was outstanding when he came on in the second half. Jock Stein was said to be "quite pleased".
