Review
Dumbarton took all the credit from this game. They were superbly organised by ex Celt Charlie Gallagher and gave as good as they got throughout. Even in extra time they did not wilt despite being part time.
Having subbed Lennox for Wallace in the second half, Celtic were down to playing the final 7 minutes of regular time and all of extra time with 10 men when Murdoch had to leave the field with a knee injury.
In extra time Dumbarton keeper Laurie Williams made a breathtaking double save from a Wallace penalty.
