Review

Gallant Dumbarton took the credit again at Hampden with a fighting display.

Not for the first time Celtic blew a 2 goal lead masterminded by Davie Hay and scored by Bobby Lennox and with the score at 2-2 Kenny Wilson was through on goal but Evan Williams saved bravely.

In extra time Celtic looked stronger and Wallace, scoring from a Johnstone pass, and Macari made it 4-2 before Dumbarton scored again at the death.

This was a magnificent cup tie and the Celtic players looked relieved at the end.
