Review

Although Stein plays an inexperienced team this is still a shock. This was a young and inexperienced Clyde side and the expectation was that they would to succumb to a Celtic side blended with both youth and experience. With three games in close proximity – the Reserve Cup Final, this game and the first team Scottish Cup Final, this was most definetly the lesser game of the three, but almost exactly the same team played in this game as had played the previous night clearly ruling therse players out of contention for the Cup Final.
Clyde had other ideas. They were keen and met Celtic man-for-man. Too many of the Celtic players tired and Clyde took their chances. John Clark had to go off at the end of the first half with a leg injury. Dom Sullivan had an excellent game for Clyde.

Clyde would go on to meet Rangers in the Final on the 16th August, where they would lose 2-0.
