Review
A big crowd to impress and a top-of-the-table clash. The crowd saw an excellent game with Celtic attacking and Aberdeen defending with only Joe Harper up front.
Dalglish played as a utility player and playmaker in the middle of the park and with Connelly clearing up at the back it became a game of keen passing at a fast tempo.
Despite constant pressure it remained goalless at half time and it took till the 60th minute for Celtic to open the scoring.
The goal came through Jimmy Johnstone's work on the right and a great pass to Harry Hood who made no mistake with his shot.
The goal brought Aberdeen out of their shell and they attacked. From a cross from Harper, Billy McNeill misjudged his header and put the ball past Connaghan to level the score.
At the final whistle McNeill thumped the ball into the grandstand expressing his own frustration at giving away the own goal and the team's at losing the opportunity to go top of the table.
