Review
East Fife go down fighting at Parkhead. This was Celtic's fourth game in eight days and the tight schedule caught up with them in the second half.
They started off at the usual cracking pace and a move with McGrain and Dalgish was finished off by Dixie. The second goal wasn't long in coming and saw McCluskey winning the ball and woering the ball through Johnstone to Deans whose shot was parried to Dalglish to slot home.
East Fife made a concerted effort to up the game after the break. Dixie got the third, a terrific goal, and this saw the subs come on. And immediately after Harry Hood was on the spot to push home another Deans parried shot.
With 10 minutes remaining East Fife pulled two goals back as Celtic eased off.
