- On the Tuesday morning David Hay relented and returned to Celtic Park to train. He was included in the Reserve squad which were due to play at Celtic Park. Their game was cancelled due to frost.
- The SFA turned down two Testimonial requests which would have involved thew Scotland team. One was for Billy McNeill and the other was for Billy Bremner.

Review
For 70 minutes Celtic were in total control through Dalglish's excellent goal when he wriggled past two defenders and thrashed the ball past Marshall.
However Sellars equalised and it looked ominous for Celts until Wilson sent Johnstone racing down the wing and ran 3 yards to score from Johnstone's return ball.
