Review
Jimmy Johnstone made a stunning return to Celtic's first team.
He showed all his mercurial talents and in one run he beat three Ayr players to the joy of the crowd. His long passing was a new feature and was excellent. It was Billy McNeill's decision for Jinky to take the penalties and he forced the first away to many congratulations from the Celtic team.
Deans' first goal was a beauty when he beat two defenders and scored with a shot on the run.
