Trivia
- A major stooshie broke out in the press, all hair-curlers, house coats and outrage, when an article written by Jackie McNamara and published in 'The Leveller' magazine in December came to light. McNamara, who made no disguise of his leaning towards the Communist Party, said in the article that football "…. was a sick and horrible business" whilst stating a number of truths about the game, it's running and other matters.
- As the 14th was a Scottish Cup Fourth Round weekend, Celtic had an off weekend. Sean Fallon headed to Ireland on another scouting trip. As an aside John Clark was at the club working as a first team coach at this time.
- Kenny Dalglish played as an overage player for the Scotland U23 team against the Netherlands on the 18th February. Scotland lost 2-0.
- Roy Aitken makes his Celtic league debut at centre half.

Review
Celtic dominated but couldn't break through. The turning point came in 75 minutes when Davie Robb smashed a shot off the bar in front of goal.
Celtic's goal came minutes later when Dalglish beat three men and chipped the ball to the back post for Lennox to deftly head home.
Roy Aitken impressed greatly on his Celtic debut at centre half.
