Review
Big signings Craig, Glavin and Doyle begin to pay back their transfer fees with fine displays.
Both teams started well and played attacking football with chances at both ends. Craig broke the deadlock just before half time with a header from a Doyle corner. And from the restart Killie were caught cold and Glavin powered home a shot.
In the second half the quality of play continued with both sides playing good football. Frank Welsh was booked for Killie. Then a fine worked goal saw Doyle put Celtic three up. There was then a delay with fighting on the terraces spilling over onto the track. Roddie MacDonald finished the scoring with a header from a Doyle corner.
Stein comments that things are now beginning to fall in to place and Celtic could have one by more in the end. Minds to a certain extent were looking forward to the European tie away to Wisla Kracow where Stanton and Craig would be ineligible.
At the end of the month with four League games played the table still had a start-of-the-season look to it.
