- Celtic signed Roy Baines from Morton with Andy Ritchie headed in the opposite direction. Baines had been in dispute with Morton and all parties appeared happy with the outcome.

Review
Dalglish is captain marvel again with another two spectacular goals.
The first half was fircely contested with both sides having chances. Celtic had most of the ball but Motherwell were dangerous and quick on the break.
Celtic started the second half determined to take the lead. Dalglish's first goal was a glorious high shot past Rennie after Wilson had done the spade work on the edge of the area and the second a well placed low shot in the corner when Craig laid the ball back to him. Motherwell had beaten Rangers seven days previously but never looked like repeating the feat at Parkhead.
The much vaunted partnership of Pettigrew and Graham were not seen mainly due to the presence of Stanton in the Celtic defence.
The end of the month saw Celtic up to second in the League.
