Review
38,000 turn out on a fine spring afternoon. Glavin continues his fine scoring form against an Ayr Utd side with an impressive midfield and defense that gave very little away, but Gordon Crammond's goal stuns Celts at the death. Up to that point Peter Latchford had had very little to do in the Celtic goal.
Celtic failed to produce the form that saw the cracking 2-4 league tie at Somerset Park with Dalglish having an off day. The first half was a dull 45 minutes with Celtic failing to break down the Ayr defense. Ian Sproat had a great gamer in the Ayr Utd goal making quality save after quality save.
