- Back in comes Roddie MacDonald at centre half with Johnny Doyle restored and Tommy Burns and Johannes Edvaldsson dropping to the bench. Latchford was also back between the sticks.
- Celtic win their first ever Premier League title with four games in hand.
- Hibs chairman Tom Hart controversially bans the TV cameras from recording the game. His belief was that football was over-exposed on the television and kept fans away from the live game. He wanted to see a trial 1-year ban of television cameras from ALL Scottish grounds.
- Hart vindictively also bans the Celtic film club from recording the game. Cine club even banned from filming celebrations in dressing room at full time.
- Hart's attitude keeps the crowd down to 22,000 when 30,000 plus would normally have been expected
- Captain Kenny Dalglish carried shoulder high round Easter Road.
- First league medal for entire first eleven apart from McGrain and Dalglish.
- Hibs legend Pat Stanton wins his only league medal (ironically) at Easter Road

Review
Joe Craig is the hero with the title winning goal. Pity the cameras weren't there to record it for posterity. Celtic fans pack Easter Road and celebrate long into the night.
Celtic started at their usual flying pace and had early chances and the first half was pretty much all Celtic. They had a good call for a penalty early in the second half when Aitken was tripped in the area. In the 63rd minute they went ahead when a shot from Glavin came back off the post to Conn who crossed for Craig to shoot hgome from 10 yards.
