Review
Conroy's tremendous volley gives Celtic a narrow lead for the second leg after a great cup tie at Tannadice.
After fighting off a spirited Dundee Utd starrt Celtic took the lead when Conn rolled a free kick to Lynch and his shot took a slight deflection before hitting the back of the net. Latchford then saved a penalty from Sturrock and Fleming's follow-up hit the post. However Fleming was not to be denied and and he swept a cross past Latchford. In the second half Roddie MacDonald accepted a miskick from defense and shot home. Edvaldsson cleared a Sturrock shot off the line with Latchford beaten. Mike Conroy fairly spanked a volley home to put the Bhoys 3-1 in front but a minute later Sturrock finally got the goal he'd been threatening tapping home a Holt shot which came back off of Latchford.
It was tight right to the end. Conn had to be subbed by Paul Wilson when he picked up a leg injury.
