Review
Celtic narrowly won a thoroughly entertaining game. Latchford made the save of the season at the death from Melrose to earn the points. Celtic fans rave about Provan’s fine debut on the wing.
Celtic got the lead with a blistering shot from Roy Aitken. But Thistle went in at the interval ahead after two goals. The first scored by Melrose from a great cross. Somner scored from the spot after Edvaldsson handled. There was still time for both keepers to have to make excellent saves before half time.
Conroy came on for George McCluskey at the start of the second half. The penalty score was evened up when Whittaker handles and Lynch scored from the spot. Soon after an error by the Jags defense let in Roddie MacDonald to score with a shot. Both sides pushed for futher goals in what was an exciting and enthralling game.
