Review
''Celtic, sensing their title hopes were ending, mounted a storming finish''…Daily Record.
Dundee Utd played well and confirmed their position at the top of the League as well as making a strong case for winning the title at the end of the season. Celtic started well and scored the opening goal when Vic Davidson headed home a free kick from Davie Provan. That marked the cue for the Arabs to fight back and they equalised also from a header from a free kick.
United piled on the pressure in the second half and finally pulled ahead with a goal headed in by Davie Dodds from a Paul Sturrock cross.
McNeill throws on McCluskey and McAdam for an all out assault on United's goal but the equalizer would not come.
Dejected Celtic fans troop out of Tannadice sensing that the league is over.
McNeill however was anything but despondent and declared the attitude of the team right and that they were unlucky not to come away with a share of the points.
