Review
Celtic edge Saints in a very close game. Celtic fans erupt at time up when it's announced that Motherwell beat Rangers.
Both sides were strong on the defensive action with Vic Davidson taking up a deeper lying role and McAdam and McCluskey up front. The game became a midfield struggle for ascendancy with Saints giving as good as they got. Edvaldsson and Aitken were outstanding at the heart of the Celtic defense.
McCluskey's goal was superb just before half time, a great shot from 25 yards and Celtic just deserved to edge it.
The fans were not to know it but this was to be the turning point of the season. This win took Celtic to second in the table ahead of Rangers on goal difference.
