Review
A larger than usual midweek crowd turned out to watch Frank McGarvey's debut.
The game seemed to pass him by and he did not look fully fit and his ex St Mirren team mates were not slow to put in several heavy challenges on him.
McCluskey and Doyle showed they would not stand aside for McGarvey and they each scored to give Celts a two goal lead.
In the second half St Mirren had a go and scored twice through Somner. Celtic still pressed forward and Doyle struck a post with a minute left after a fine run.
