Review
Celtic were clear winners on a warm September afternoon.
As Rangers opened their new Govan stand with a fan fare, Billy McNeill told his players – 'Let's give them something to remember !'
Provan was the architect of Celtic's early play and McAdam got the opener with a fine header from his cross.
The midfield of Sullivan, MacLeod and Burns was in total control and McCluskey and McGarvey's movement up front was excellent.
With minutes remaining MacLeod scored from a free kick after McGrain had been fouled and this resulted in Rangers fans leaving in their droves.
At full time the Celtic fans cheered the team loudly from the field.
