Review
The Hoops romped to a comfortable win on a sunny August afternoon in the Kingdom of Fife, George McCluskey opened the scoring for Celtic in the nineteenth minute Tommy Burns netted four minutes later to make it 2-0 before Bobby Dall fired the ball into his own net three minutes before half-time and Charlie Nicholas heaped further misery on the Pars defence in the 44th minute to make it 4-0, the second half was much the same as the first 45, with the irrepressible Nicholas adding to the tally with further strikes in 51 and a penalty two minutes later before completing the rout with goal number seven (and his fourth) with a quarter of a hour left to play, Dunfermline Athletic's consolation effort was converted by Stevie Morrison.
