Review

Ajax shocked Celtic by taking the game to them from the off. Olsen scored in four minutes only for Nicholas to level from the spot after Cruyff fouled Tommy Burns. Lerby scored again and McGarvey equalised before half time to leave 56,000 fans totally breathless.

The play slowed in the second half and there were no more goals.

At the end the Ajax players took a bow in the centre circle and were sportingly cheered by the Celtic supporters.
