Match Report
This was a bad game for Celtic, one that the fans would rather forget.
Neither keeper was really tested until, with fifteen minutes left on the clock, Pat Bonner pulled off a great save to spare Celtic’s blushes and keep them level with the second division champions.
Danny Crainie came on as substitute for Celtic shortly afterwards and at last made it look as though the Brechin defence could be beaten. He ran at them and made them start to panic a bit as his constant movement proved hard to keep up with.
With thre minutes of play left, Celtic scored. It was a good goal. Danny McGrain sent in a cross from the right and Jim Melrose got above the defence to head home.
During this match, Brechin played well and showed that they should do well in their new division during the coming season.
