Review
Paul McStay had a majestic game and was the difference between the two sides. Time and again he beat his opponent and sprayed passes all over the field, inspiring his team mates all around him
Davie Provan's appearance as substitute gave Celtic the width they needed to finally get in behind the Dons' defence. In 68 minutes it was Provan's corner that allowed Aitken to leap high and knock the all down for Mo Johnston to swivel and score with a shot on the turn.
It was Celtic all the way in the latter stages and from another Provan run and cross, Cooper had to barge Johnston aside to stop him from scoring. The sublime McStay strode forward to beat Leighton with the penalty.
This was Celtic's most convincing win over Aberdeen for years.
