Football / Scottish Round-Up: McNeill rewarded by revival
BYLINE:By DON LINDSAY
MENTION the number nine to aCelticsupporter and it is almost guaranteed to elicit a response mixing pleasure with rueful reflection (the club having once won that number of Scottish League championships in succession from 1965 to '74).Celtichave now gone nine successive matches without defeat, their impressive revival continuing against Hibernian at Easter Road.
Not so long ago the club was in a shambles, the knives unsheathed for their manager, Billy McNeill: butCeltichave ridden out of the rough terrain. Two goals by Joe Miller consolidated their push for a European place and cemented confidence for back-to-back Scottish Cup and League showdowns with Rangers at Parkhead.
