Review
Celtic fans had only to wait 11 minutes for the opener. Stilian Petrov played a superb one-two with Henrik Larsson before cooly slotting the ball past Marco Ruitenbeek.
Larsson almost bagged a second three minutes later when Tommy Johnson, who had just replaced the injured Chris Sutton, found him at the back post. His right-foot volley flashed just past the upright.
Celtic went close again in 21 minutes when Johan Mjallby headed just over the bar but the second goal did arrive four minutes later after Ian Ferguson had brought down Alan Thompson. Three Celtic players stood over the ball but it was Larsson who sent an unstoppable right-foot effort sailing into the top corner, leaving Ruitenbeek no chance.
Dunfermline's Barry Nicholson was shown a yellow card after his foul on Didier Agathe before Larsson almost added his second of the afternoon. Taking a Thompson pass in his stride he sent in an angled drive but Ruitenbeek got down well to deny the Celtic striker.
In the second-half Larsson proved that he was human after all when Paul Lambert played him through but he screwed his effort harmlessly across the face of the Dunfermline goal. Moments later Lennon picked out Thompson down the left flank and the midfielder's dangerous cross was put just past the post by Andrius Skerla with Larsson again waiting to pounce.
Ian Ferguson went in to the referee's book in the 61st minute for a rash tackle on Petrov before Dunfermline had one of their few, but their best, chance of the game with Agathe having to head clear after Jason Dair had crossed to Ferguson.
Lennon then rounded off Celtic's comfortable performance with a fine shot with the outside of his boot which nestled in to the corner of the Dunfermline goal.
Shortly afterwards he left the field to a rousing reception from the travelling Celtic support.

Dunfermline 0-3 Celtic
Celtic got back to winning ways in the league with this straightforward victory over Dunfermline at East End Park as Martin O' Neill's side moved 13 points clear of their closest rivals Rangers.
The result never really seemed in doubt with these two sides meeting again on Scottish Cup duty on Wednesday.
The only positive note for Dunfermline boss Jimmy Calderwood was that after last weekend's rout at Tynecastle, his side managed to limit the damage caused by the dominant league leaders.
Celtic, with Neil Lennon in the side after his mid-week trauma playing for Northern Ireland, were looking to take another step towards clinching the title.
Their fans had only to wait 11 minutes for the opener.
