Review
Celtic came from behind to progress to the CIS cup quarter-finals, when substitute John Hartson scored a winner in extra time. For the second time in a month, Alan Gow put the Bairns in the lead against Celtic, but Zurawski equalised just 6 minutes later, before the game was pushed into extra time. This was the second year running that Falkirk were knocked out of the league cup by Celtic.
Lennon was out injured, but Sutton made his return to fitness start in the holding role instead. Celtic had the better of the first-half chances, but Falkirk were quick and adventurous after the break. Boruc tipped a Gow free-kick over the bar in the dying seconds in order to ensure extra-time, and Celtic's progression to the next round.

Celtic 2-1 Falkirk (aet)

John Hartson came off the bench to grab an extra-time winner as Celtic came from behind to edge out Falkirk and progress to the CIS Cup quarter-finals.
The Bairns had lost at Celtic Park in the league last month after taking the lead and Alan Gow, after a superb run and finish, put them in front again.
Maciej Zurawski slotted in the equaliser, but fine saves from Matt Glennon sent the tie into extra-time.
Hartson's powerful header put Celtic in the driving seat as Falkirk tired.
The Bairns had been out to ensure there was no repeat of last season's 8-1 CIS Cup defeat by a second-string Celtic.
Falkirk are now a Scottish Premier League club and Gordon Strachan limited the changes this time.
With Neil Lennon suspended, fit-again Chris Sutton returned to the side in the midfield holding role.
Craig Beattie and Shaun Maloney replaced the injured Alan Thompson and rested Hartson.
Celtic had the better of the first-half chances.
Zurawski was denied by diving challenge from Vitor Lima and sent a powerful drive just over, while Beattie mis-hit a volley from eight yards and fluffed another effort at the near post.
Falkirk had played some neat football, superbly orchestrated by veteran midfielder Russell Latapy, without creating any chances by half time.
But the visitors were more adventurous after the break.
A Stephen McManus lunge denied Darryl Duffy and they had strong penalty claims denied when Stephen O'Donnell's header struck Maloney's arm before eventually taking the lead.
Gow dispossessed Sutton before slipping between McManus and Bobo Balde and firing the ball low past Artur Boruc and into the far corner of the net.
Glennon made a fine low save to hold a Zurawski header but was left exposed moments later.
Maloney set up Zurawski and the Polish striker curled the ball wide of the goalkeeper.
Glennon denied Zurawski a second, stretching to tip a header over the bar with his finger tips.
McManus somehow managed to hammer the ball against the bar from just three yards following a corner and Glennon tipped a Zurawski header on to the woodwork.
Falkirk had to replace the exhausted Latapy and Hartson pounced early into extra-time, powering his header home from 12 yards after a Shunsuke Nakamura cross.
Boruc tipped a Gow free-kick from the edge of the box over the bar in the dying seconds to make sure of Celtic's progress.
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan:
"If you create four times as many chances as your opponents, you have be impressed with that.
"We made changes from Sunday but should have had the game finished before extra-time.
"Chris Sutton returned to the side after injury and did very well before tiring."
Falkirk player-coach Russell Latapy:
"We put in a great performance.
"We could not get forward as much as we like to as that is a good Celtic side.
"But we kept the ball well in the first half and scored a good goal in the second.
"We are learning all the time at this level and hopefully that will continue."
