- Theme for the day: "We're having a party when rangers die"…."we're passing the parcel when rangers die"….
- "We're having a party when rangers die""We're having a party when Rangers die…Jelly and ice cream when Rangers die…Pass the parcel when Rangers die…"Any others i can't hear?
- Celtic end the January transfer window with few changes (31st Jan). In: Lustig (free), Ibrahim (free) and Brozek (loan).

The squad seemed quite bloated with 30 players; Rangers had just 20 due to the downsizing.

That was an enjoyable game today. We never looked in any danger and it probably should have been more than two with Hooper in particular putting in a great shift up front. Samaras did well with his goal and I probably wasn't the only one who didn't expect him to shoot from there. If he was direct like that more often then I'm sure he would have a few more goals from us. I'm delighted we're through to the next round and the away support were absolutely tremendous. It was great to see Butcher's face tripping him during and after the game and heres hoping the next time we play them we stick a good few goals past them.

SPL – Holders Celtic win at Inverness
Sat, 04 Feb 17:36:00 2012
Eurosport
Celtic made it a hat-trick of victories over Inverness Caledonian Thistle this season with a 2-0 win in the Scottish Cup fifth round at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium.Georgios Samaras, often the source of much frustration amongst the Celtic faithful, put his side into the lead after 33 minutes before spawning a hat-trick of second-half chances as Celtic looked to close out a difficult fixture.
And it was left to captain Scott Brown to secure the victory from the penalty spot after Gary Hooper had been felled in the box with 22 minutes to go.
Celtic, a point clear at the top of the SPL with a game in hand, went into the game against former Rangers man Terry Butcher’s side in great form, but Inverness were also on a decent run of form that has seen them unbeaten in their last five league outings.
Neil Lennon will have been wary of a side that tend to perform well in cup competitions against Celtic, having caused plenty of upsets in the past, and the Celtic manager made four changes for the trip to the Highlands.
Defenders Adam Matthews and Kelvin Wilson, midfielder Kris Commons and striker Samaras came in for Cha Du-ri, Emilio Izaguirre, James Forrest and Anthony Stokes; while Butcher replaced goalkeeper Ryan Esson with Jonny Tuffey and brought in midfielder Graeme Shinnie for Shane Sutherland.
With both sides adapting to the changes in personnel, the game started in a frenetic fashion and looked to be heading to half-time scoreless until Samaras capitalised on a slip from Ross Tokely to bear down on the goal of Tuffey, albeit at a tight angle, before lashing past the goalkeeper to give Celtic the lead.
Caley responded well to going behind – and, in fact, had the better openings before the goal, with Fraser Forster getting down smartly to push a Nick Ross effort from 18 yards around the post following some good hold-up play from Gregory Tade.
And almost immediately after going behind the home side were almost hauled level through the head of Tokely but his header just edged over following reported Celtic target Jonny Hayes' searching delivery.
Celtic finished the half in relative comfort but without looking willing or capable to add to their lead. However, they began the second-half in boisterous fashion and Samaras could – and should – have added to his – and his sides' – tally.
First he slid in to flash an effort over the bar from no more than six yards out before stabbing Joe Ledley's teasing cross wide from the edge of the six yard box.
He then headed a Charlie Mulgrew cross into the arms of Tuffey before Hooper went down under the challenge of David Proctor in the box. Brown made no mistake from the spot and the cup holders held out despite a spirited effort from the home side.
Butcher cut an increasingly frustrated figure on the touchline as his side failed to fashion a decent chance of note despite considerable effort.
The victory sees Celtic move into the quarter-final draw still in with the chance of a treble. Eurosport

Celtic progressed to the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup with a comfortable win away to Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
An angled strike from Georgios Samaras opened the scoring in the 33rd minute.
David Proctor brought down Gary Hooper inside the Inverness penalty area with 67 minutes played and Celtic captain Scott Brown converted from the spot.
Inverness substitute Claude Gnakpa fired in a hopeful effort in the dying minutes that drifted over the bar.
The win is Celtic's third against Inverness in the Scottish Cup, with the Highland side having won two of the previous encounters.
Caley boss Terry Butcher replaced goalkeeper Ryan Esson with Jonny Tuffey and brought in midfielder Graeme Shinnie for Shane Sutherland.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon made four changes with Adam Matthews, Kelvin Wilson and Samaras in – along with a rare start for Kris Commons – while Cha Du-ri and Emilio Izaguirre were dropped and James Forrest and Anthony Stokes started on the bench.
Some hearty challenges in the opening stages gave way to a half-chance for Hooper in the sixth minute when he controlled a long ball in the Inverness penalty area but couldn't find a way through towards goal under pressure.
The first real chance of the match fell to Nick Ross on the edge of the Celtic penalty area in the 24th minute when he fired low towards the bottom left, but keeper Fraser Forster was at full stretch to turn it around the post.
From the resulting corner, Wilson appeared to handle the ball during a goalmouth scramble, but referee Calum Murray waved play on.
Moments later, Commons was presented with a golden opportunity when Hooper fed through a pass inside the Inverness penalty area, but the Scotland international mis-timed his shot and stumbled over the ball.
A low shot from Hooper as the half-hour mark approached was smothered by Tuffey, before Samaras thundered an swerving drive high past the Northern Irishman to put the visitors into the lead.
Ross Tokely almost caused a second goal when he fumbled a back-pass that Hooper intercepted, but Tuffey was on-hand to clear the danger.
A poor free-kick from Greg Tansey sailed over the Celtic bar as half-time approached, then a Tokely header failed to find the target from a Jonny Hayes corner.
Shortly after the restart, Samaras forced a corner after a powering run down the right-hand side, but Tansey headed clear and Charlie Mulgrew's cross on the rebound was deflected wide.
Moments later, Samaras and Joe Ledley rushed for the same ball on the six-yard line and a chance to double the lead went over the Inverness crossbar.
The big Greece striker was inches shy of his second of the day as the hour-mark approached, stretching to reach a Ledley pass on the six-yard line that bobbled across the face of goal.
Andrew Shinnie tried with an effort from distance that was deflected out for a corner during a decent spell of pressure for the hosts.
In the 67th minute, Proctor brought down Hooper inside the penalty area with a clumsy challenge from behind and referee Murray immediately pointed to the spot. Brown stepped up and sent keeper Tuffey the wrong way to extend Celtic's lead.
Forster's complacency with a clearance was almost punished by Richie Foran, but the big Englishman recovered to keep his pride intact, then substitute Forrest sprinted through the Inverness defence and fired in a shot that failed to find the back of the net.
With five minutes remaining, Inverness began to to look tired as the visitors pressed for a third.
Gnakpa's long-range injury-time effort sailed wildly over the bar and Anthony Stokes made a late appearance in place of Hooper, but further firepower up front was unrequired as Celtic eased through to the last eight.
