Trivia
- Back after long international break. Scott Brown captained Scotland. Stokes back in Ireland squad, who are on the rebound and have now won 3 out of last 4 games. Defeated big scalps Croatia twice now too.
- Pathetic back page from Sunday Mail of raging Neil Lennon, not reflective of his comments. Irresponsible and very offensive.
- Bizarrely, Scott Brown banned for three matches in Champions League after his red card, despite contact being innocuous. Celtic appealing decision.
- Seven members of the Green Brigade and their families have been harassed at their homes. Two GB members arrested, charged and banned. The unpopular SNP bill is being misused by authorities (All acc to TheCelticTrust).
- Debut for Darnell Fisher, plays at right-back role in place of injured Lustig & Matthews.
- Sevco website found stocking and selling Celtic branded rubber ducks. LOL.
- Mass release of books on Celtic in past week or two, with some more to come. All jockeying for the Xmas market. Some excellent works amongst them, much recommended. See link to the book section: Link.
- Celtic youth player Calvin Miller named the World's best youth player born in 1998 by website (how much credence should be given is up to you): http://footballyouthtalents.wordpress.com/world-best-young-players/
Review
(mikeybhoy of KDS)
Forrest's goal was a peach, Fisher played well and we kept at the task today…… but….
Stokes and Pukki are both decent players, but they are the same type of player they don't poach, they don't attack the 6 yard box, never looking for a deflection or a fumble. It's just not in their armoury. A big lazy poacher would fill his boots in this team.
And on to Amido Balde…. It's obvious for all to see that the attack needed freshened up around the 55 minute mark… and he didn't come on…. Lenny clearly has as much faith in him as the majority of fans. This is harsh and I hate to say it but he is nowhere near good enough to play for us… He is so ineffectual… It's painful to watch him.

Hibernian 1 – 1 Celtic: Forrest rescues point

JAMES Forrest’s wonderful strike gave Celtic a 1-1 Scottish Premiership draw against Hibernian – but manager Neil Lennon was left with more Champions League worries ahead of Ajax’s visit on Tuesday night.
SCORERS: Hibs – Heffernan 18; Celtic – Forrest 77
Striker Paul Heffernan gave Hibs the lead in the 17th minute when he raced through to knock the ball past Fraser Forster.
Forrest then replaced Kris Commons, who came off with a hamstring injury which must make him doubtful for Europe, and a moment of magic in the 75th minute by the Scotland winger deservedly levelled the scores at Easter Road.
Celtic face Ajax still looking for their first points after two games and they will have to do so without skipper Scott Brown, who was handed a three-match ban after getting sent off against Barcelona at Parkhead earlier in the month.
Although the Scottish champions have indicated they will appeal, the automatic one-game ban rules him out of the visit of the Dutch side.
Aside from concerns over Commons, left-back Emilio Izaguirre was out of this contest through illness.
Lennon will also be without Adam Matthews, out for three months with a shoulder injury and his right-back rival Mikael Lustig, who also missed the trip to Leith, is a doubt with a hip complaint.
To that end, the Parkhead boss was forced to give 19-year-old Darnell Fisher his competitive debut and he had some early touches in a scrappy beginning.
In the 14th minute Commons broke up the monotony of mistakes when he tried a speculative drive from 25 yards but the ball flew over the bar and moments later his header from Brown’s cross went equally astray.
It looked like the champions were finding their feet but Hibs forged ahead with their first chance.
Celtic’s Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk’s loose pass out of defence saw Hibees midfielder Kevin Thomson winning a tackle with Brown to send the unmarked Heffernan through to shoot past Forster.
There was a hint of offside about the goal but it energised the home side, who sensed there might be a second for the taking.
However, five minutes later Commons had another chance when he ran through on goal but although his chip beat Hibs keeper Ben Williams it also cleared the bar.
The Hoops midfielder was soon replaced by Forrest and Celtic began to turn the screw.
On the half-hour mark Georgios Samaras had a side-footed shot from 14 yards saved by skipper Williams after being set up by Teemu Pukki, with former Easter Road striker Anthony Stokes then hitting the side-netting.
Three minutes from the break Hibs defender Ryan McGivern’s lunging block prevented Pukki drawing Celtic level with a close-range shot.
It was no surprise that the Glasgow side came flying out of the traps after the break.
Four minutes into the second half Williams made a fine save from Beram Kayal’s low drive from the edge of the box with stopper Michael Nelson completing the clearance.
As the pressure intensified Williams made another save, this time from Stokes at his near post with the corner coming to nothing.
Heffernan continued to look dangerous on the break but in the 65th minute it was Owain Tudur Jones who tested Forster with an effort from the edge of the box after being set up by Abdellah Zoubir.
The pressure on the Hibs penalty area refused to subside but it was a wonderful goal to which they succumbed, Forrest driving into the box and curling the ball with the outside of his right foot past Williams and into the far corner on his return from sciatica and virus problems,
Stokes missed another chances moments later, volleying wide after being picked out by Forrest, who – with three minutes remaining – saw a close-range volley brilliantly saved by Williams.
Lennon will have been pleased with his side’s spirited comeback but will now have to regroup ahead of the Ajax game – which will shape their future in Europe this season.

James Forrest's stunning equaliser against tenacious Hibernian prevented stuttering Celtic suffering their first domestic defeat of the season.
Celtic were left angry as Paul Heffernan fired the 18th-minute opener after a rebound fell to the striker in an offside position.
The Premiership leaders struggled to break down an Edinburgh side who were mainly operating on the break.
But Forrest's beautiful curling drive levelled the game with 13 minutes left.
It was a cruel moment for Hibs, who have now only lost once in their last nine games, as they had been reduced to 10 men at the time with Ryan McGivern off the field receiving treatment.
However, Celtic deserved at least a point despite being far below their best with perhaps one collective eye on Tuesday's Champions League visit by Ajax.

The big talking point at kick-off was the Celtic debut handed to Darnell Fisher, the 19-year-old Englishman who signed in 2011 after leaving Farnborough covering at right-back in the absence of injured duo Adam Matthews and Mikael Lustig.
A virus picked up on international duty meant Emilio Izaguirre was missing from the other side of defence, with Charlie Mulgrew dropping back to cover and Beram Kayal coming into midfield.
Izaguirre and Lustig are expected to be fit for a midweek return, but Fisher did not look out of place as he slotted in comfortably and impressively into the Celtic system as the visitors enjoyed more of the early possession.

Heffernan (left) opened the scoring for Hibs at Easter Road
Hibs manager Pat Fenlon had changed his formation to one up front, with James Collins dropping to the bench, and the home side had rarely been seen as an attacking force by the time they took a controversial lead.
Kevin Thomson won a tackle with Scotland team-mate Scott Brown, the man with whom he made his Hibs debut in 2003, after a poor clearance by Virgil van Dijk.
As the ball broke forward, the lonesome Heffernan was a yard offside behind the Celtic defence before firing under the advancing Fraser Forster and into the net.
Celtic had themselves been restricted to a couple of Kris Commons half chances until then, but he should have equalised when a precise Van Dijk long ball found the winger behind the defence only for his chip over Ben Williams to find the roof of the net.
Play media
Fit-again Georgios Samaras fired straight at the legs of Williams from 16 yards before Celtic lost the services of the influential Commons to what looked like a hamstring injury after 27 minutes.
A rush of blood to Williams' head allowed substitute Forrest to round the goalkeeper and set up Teemu Pukki in front of goal, but the Finland striker hesitated as McGivern blocked the low effort.
Williams redeemed himself with fine saves to deny Kayal and Anthony Stokes as Celtic came out after the break in more determined mood.
Hibs settled and grew in confidence inspired by a bit of trickery from on-loan Istres winger Abdellah Zoubir, who had been given his first league start, and a shot from Liam Craig tested Forster.
However, Forrest ghosted past stand-in full-back Craig before curling a drive with the outside of his foot inside the far post and the Scotland winger was denied a late second by another wonderful Williams save.
