Trivia
- Celtic are now second, and Aberdeen have one game in hand so can go five points in front. Hearts lost so
- Back to the league after internationals. Scotland screw up in Euros by losing to Georgia, but also lose in a spirited showing v Germany too. However Ireland now four points in front in third and Scotland out of it all again it seems.
- Leigh Griffiths admonished by Sheriff in court for singing "Rudi Skacel is a f***ing refugee" song in pub last year. Closes book on that chapter and he has grown up a lot since that silly moment. A repeat won't be tolerated, the Celtic fans have been clear about that.
- Chief executive Peter Lawwell chose to attribute the £3.95 million end-of-year loss reported by the club yesterday to a desire to support manager Ronny Deila and not solely the absence of Champions League football – as he also claimed profitability would be restored in 2016 despite the continued exile from European football’s prized tournament.
- Sky sports extend their contract with Scottish football, most fans in Scotland groan.
- Andy Murray KO'ed before quarter finals in tennis for first time in five years in grand slam events. His brother makes final in doubles.
- News is dominated by mass refugees travelling to Europe to escape war in Syria. Celtic contributing funds from Jock Stein remembrance charity match to assist the refugees in line with our ethos and history. Many
Celtic fans, including the Green Brigade, assisting with fund raising also. Much respect to all. - Elsewhere, administrators and owners of TheRangers Sevco being questioned and charged over dodgy purchase of assets of Rangers. Rangers Sevco owner states wanting to bring out old company from liquidation! The fun never stops.
Dundee Utd great Ralph Milne (1970s) passed away. RIP. - Transfer window closed.

Review
(remy m of KDS)
Terrible.
Starting eleven plainly wrong and Ciftci on before Commons was mental. Shunting Johansen around 3 positions and, tbf, he was terrible in all three, was like an under 12s manager not wanting to sub his son.
We hardly created a chance, Aberdeen and the ref were pish and Gordon sold the knickers at the end. A bad day all round.
Deila is tactically inept and his belief in his system will be his undoing.
The dressing room rumbles are only going to get louder.
(corky B of KDS)
An incredibly bad performance – Malmoesque. Every weakness that we were already aware of was exposed. Second to everything, total inability to keep the ball, nothing going forward, shocking when faced with crosses. Lack of discipline and seemingly appetite for the game. I turned round to my brother and said when they went down to 10 that I still thought we would lose the match. When Ambrose came on the pub groaned and right enough he performed to script.
We lost to a 10 man Aberdeen side who wanted it more than us and deserved the win- but they were nothing great.
Gordon – 3 – Must remember that balls in the 6 yard box are there to be won
Lustig – 5 – Will he ever last 90 minutes ?
Blackett – 3 – poor in every aspect but its his first game
Boyata – 4 – A liability in possession and so far looking dreadful
Mulgrew – 4 – Defensively shocking
Brown – 3 – See Malmo and away in Tblisi
Biton – 5 Bteer than the rest but not saying much
Joansen – 3 – another player who is miles off form
GMS – 2 – reminded me of Regi Blinker's first game at Ibrox
Rogic -3 – Slow and did not make use of space
Griffiths – 4 – Good first half, poor in second and slackness cost us possession that would lead to the second goal
Ambrose – 2 – I genuinely hope he never plays for us again. A liability
Ciftci -2 – Is he the worst forward we have signed since Biggins
Forrest – 4- Better than GMS –
Deila -2 – All over the place just now and tonight if he left I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. But god knows who PL would come up with to replace him.
We knew that that VVD and Denayer wouldn't be here this season. We sold Matthews. We know that Ronnie doesnt rate Izzy. Lustig never plays more than a third of games. To have replaced them in the way we have is suicidal. To have gone in to the season with only one reasonable striker (who disgraced us off the park) is feckless management. To have Ambrose amble on in every game and be utterly inept is a disgrace.
What a shambles we are

Aberdeen 2-1 Celtic: Dons set new club record to go top of Premiership

Winner: Paul Quinn netted late on for the Pittodrie side.SNS Group
Paul Quinn's dramatic late winner against Celtic at Pittodrie set a club record for Aberdeen and blew open the Premiership title race.
Striker Leigh Griffiths gave the Parkhead side the lead in the 35th minute with a penalty but that was cancelled by Adam Rooney's spot-kick early in the second half, before Dons' wide-man Jonny Hayes was shown a straight red by referee Craig Thomson for a tackle on Hoops right-back Mikael Lustig.
However, defender Quinn's late strike from close range made it 2-1 and six successive league wins for the Dons at the start of a season for the first time, taking them two points clear of the champions at the top of the table with a game in hand against Hamilton on Tuesday.
Given that Celtic won all four meetings between the clubs last season, the Pittodrie side will see this as a significant marker in the title race while the Hoops will have to regroup for their Europa League group opener against Ajax in Amsterdam on Thursday night.
There was a moment of poignancy before an enthralling game unfolded, with a minute's applause before kick-off in memory of former Dons and Scotland player Graham Leggat, who passed away recently.
Celtic almost got off to a dream start in the second minute when Andrew Considine was short with a pass back to Danny Ward allowing Parkhead midfielder Tom Rogic to pounce. But the Dons keeper blocked the shot for a corner, which a nervy looking home side defended.
In the 17th minute, after Quinn had fouled Stefan Johansen 25 yards from goal, Griffiths' free-kick deflected off the wall and crashed off the bar before he volleyed the ball high over. The game was slowly warming up.
Moments later, Considine headed a Hayes corner over the bar then failed to control a Kenny McLean cross after evading the Hoops defence, and things got worse for the defender when he pulled Griffiths back inside the box after the Hoops striker had latched on to a fine Charlie Mulgrew pass.
Considine was booked by referee Thomson before Griffiths fired the penalty past Ward for his ninth of the season.
The champions looked assured and when Hayes' cross was missed by McLean two minutes from the break it looked like it would be another pointless afternoon for the Granite City men when faced by green and white.
At the start of the second half McLean appeared to aim a kick at Lustig while the full-back was on the ground with the ball underneath him, with Thomson stepping in to calm the situation while taking no action.
Moments later the official had the Dons fans in uproar when he refused to point to the spot when the ball appeared to strike Mulgrew's hand in the penalty area from a Shay Logan cross.
In the 56th minute, however, Thomson did award a penalty when Celtic stopper Dedryck Boyata tumbled Dons midfielder Graeme Shinnie to the ground, with Rooney sending keeper Craig Gordon the wrong way.
The home side went all out for the winner but the game took another twist in the 72nd minute when Hayes was sent packing for his challenge on Lustig, who was immediately replaced by Efe Ambrose, with James Forrest on for Tom Rogic.
There was more drama to follow, however, when Quinn got on the end of a Niall McGinn free-kick to knock the ball past Gordon and keep the three points at Pittodrie, although ultimately they had to thank Considine for clearing a Griffith effort off the line in injury-time.

Ten-man Aberdeen maintained their winning start to the season, coming from behind to defeat Celtic.
Paul Quinn touched in a Niall McGinn free-kick on 86 minutes as the Dons leapfrogged the champions to reach the top of the Premiership.
Leigh Griffiths had given the visitors the lead with a penalty.
Adam Rooney levelled with a spot-kick of his own and the hosts showed great spirit to snatch victory following the dismissal of Jonny Hayes.
Aberdeen, who lost all four matches against Celtic last season, have now made their best start to a league campaign with six consecutive victories.
Derek McInnes's side had battled gamely to establish parity but a home win looked unlikely following the harsh red card shown to Hayes, who had been the game's outstanding performer.

The lively winger appeared to reach the ball first as he slid in on Mikael Lustig and the Celtic defender's reaction certainly indicated he thought there was no malice intended.
However, the Dons did enjoy some fortune when Andrew Considine escaped with a booking for conceding the first-half penalty converted by Griffiths.
The left-back was caught out by a super long diagonal pass from Charlie Mulgrew, getting on the wrong side of Griffiths and tugging the striker as he shaped to shoot.

An eventful game for Considine opened with a woeful back-pass that nearly gifted Tom Rogic a goal, while in stoppage-time he denied Griffiths with a clearance off the line.
Prior to his ninth goal of the season, a free-kick from Griffiths rattled the crossbar following a large deflection off Graeme Shinnie.
Aberdeen really should have been level before the break when a lovely delivery from Hayes found McLean unattended right in front of goal six yards out but somehow the midfielder failed to make contact with his attempted header.

Early in the second half there were loud cries for an Aberdeen penalty as Mulgrew stopped a Shay Logan cross with his arm but the home fans did not have long to wait for the second spot-kick of the game.
Dedryk Boyata was punished for a clumsy challenge on Shinnie near the byeline when there was little apparent danger and Rooney drilled in the equaliser.
The foul count was growing as the rain tumbled down and Aberdeen were reduced to 10 men on 72 minutes.
James Forrest fizzed a shot across goal and a Mulgrew free-kick was saved by Danny Ward as the visitors tried to press home their advantage in personnel.
But defender Quinn would prove the match-winner as he was allowed to prod in a dipping delivery from McGinn, with the Celtic defence all at sea in a congested penalty box.

LEIGH GRIFFITHS faces an SFA rap for slamming ref Craig Thomson.
Raging Griff insists the whistler should have sent Aberdeen’s Andrew Considine off — claiming he would have done had he played for Celtic.
The striker was awarded a first-half penalty after Considine brought him down.
But asked if he was surprised the Dons defender wasn’t sent off, Griffiths hit out: “Very. I was going to score, there was no doubt about it.
“I was about to whip it around the goalie. I was three or four yards away from goal so he’s got to be sent off. If it’s up the other end I’m positive, I’d put my mortgage on it, that Craig the referee sends one of our men off.
“What makes me say that? It’s what happens. If it’s up the other end the Aberdeen players would have surrounded him and you can guarantee he sends him off. That’s 100 per cent.
“The ref just said I was going away from goal. But to me I’m going to whip it round and put it to the goalie’s left-hand side.
“Look, it’s one of those things. It’s done with now. We’ve been beaten and we need to look forward.
“But he grabbed a hold of my shirt, I came back inside him and he burled me around.”
Griffiths pointed the finger of blame at keeper Craig Gordon and his defence for Aberdeen’s late winner.
The Scotland goalie stayed on his line at a free-kick.
And asked if he thought Gordon should have come for the ball Griffiths added: “Either Craig has to come out and get it or someone else has to boot the ball up the park. At that point we go away with a draw or maybe even win the game.”
Griffiths insists Celts will bounce back from the defeat.
He added: “They won the game from a set-piece which came a long way. When they’ve gone down to ten men we should really be capitalising.
“We won’t look too much into it. People need to remember it’s only September and there is a lot of football to be played.
“We’ve got to give credit to Aberdeen, they’ve played well and won the game.
“I’m sure they will take confidence from this. They still have a game in hand too so I’m sure they’ll up their game.
“But we need to look forward to the Europa League now.”
Griffiths had a late chance to equaliser — but reckons he was too honest.
He added: “I should have done better. But I’m too honest for my own good, I said that to the referee. Any other player would have fallen down and taken the penalty but I tried to take it around the goalie and put it in. Their defender then got to clear off the line by booting it away.”
