- Boyata has been no.1 public enemy all week, and a banner by the GB made the feelings of the support clear.
- However, Boyata was the goal scoring winner ironically, which made some bizarrely back track and there was back & forth flak from some parts of the support. Some saying he deserves the flak, others saying no flak whilst he's playing for us etc. Still expected to leave this week.

Review
(tinytim of KDS)
With Sevco drawing I thought that was actually a good win. Today was just about getting the points and some confidence back leading up to Suduva then Sevco on Sunday.
The Boyata thing could have blown up in our faces but the manager's been vindicated by playing him. Despite what others say, I thought Dembele had a good game. He looked sharp and strong and should have got a goal or two. McGregor toiled but worked hard (as did everyone). Tierney was my man of the match.
Grinding out a result can be quite satisfying depending on the circumstances and after the fortnight we've just had, I came away from the game feeling pleased.
Far too pedestrian today. This whole – pass it across the back four 5 times before a forward pass, is painful to watch and it just allows the other team to stroll back into position. I did notice today that nobody in the midfield was looking to take the ball from the defence though which probably explains it. Regarding Boyata, I was pretty stunned to hear him getting applauded with every touch, I know it was probably just to counter the boos but it was all a bit weird. If he had came out an apologised I may feel different but as many have said – he deserted the team in our hour of need so I can't fathom treating him like a hero. It does seem odd that the team went out of their way to celebrate with him when he scored, which makes me think there must be more to this story than we are aware. Nobody has came out of this saga well, ideal scenario is we sell him for a decent amount and replace him with someone better. Chances of that happening though…?

Celtic 1 – 0 Hamilton: Boyata scores winner on first-team return
https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/competitions/premiership/celtic-1-0-hamilton-boyata-scores-winner-on-first-team-return-1-4789991
Stephen HallidayThose who confidently predicted there was no way back for Dedryck Boyata as a Celtic player were confounded as he made a match-winning return to Brendan Rodgers’ side at the start of a pivotal week for the Scottish champions. Scoring the only goal of the game and helping your team keep their first clean sheet in seven outings is certainly as good a way as any to start reintegrating yourself. Boyata remains persona non grata in the eyes of some Celtic fans for his alleged refusal to play in recent matches after he was denied a move to the English Premier League earlier this month.
But, having been accepted back into the fold by his manager and team-mates, he responded with an outstanding all-round display which ensured Celtic secured all three points against a gritty and gutsy Hamilton Accies side.
With further home games against Suduva in the Europa League and Rangers in the Premiership to come over the next seven days, Celtic are now in a position to alter the negative narrative which has surrounded their start to the season.
With Jozo Simunovic and Jack Hendry both sidelined by injury, there was an element of necessity about Rodgers’ decision to reinstate Boyata to the heart of his defence.
Regardless of the circumstances, the big Belgian’s inclusion was always going to prove unpopular with a section of the Celtic support. A banner unfurled in the Green Brigade section of the ground just before kick-off left him in no doubt about how his recent non-participation has been perceived.
‘Boyata – Not Fit To Wear The Jersey’ was the message sent. His first few touches of the afternoon elicited jeers from the same group of fans, although those of a more forgiving nature in other parts of the stadium responded with encouraging cheers for Boyata.
Just 30 seconds into what was his first appearance for Celtic since the Scottish Cup Final at the end of last season, there was an uncomfortable moment for Boyata and his central defensive partner Kristoffer Ajer when Hamilton striker Mikel Miller burst into the penalty area and forced Craig Gordon into a smart save at the expense of a corner.
It was a rare moment of attacking intent from the visitors who set out to smother the life out of proceedings with their 5-3-2 formation. With Congolese midfielder Delphin Tshiembe deployed as the spare man at the back for Accies, they diligently policed and frustrated the Celtic front pair of Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths, pictured, in a largely pedestrian first half.
Griffiths’ first sight of goal came in the fourth minute but he was denied by an alert and well-timed interception from Ziggy Gordon which was typical of the visitors’ defensive work in the opening 45 minutes.
Clear-cut chances were few and far between for the champions who forced Gary Woods into his first save in the 15th minute. After Dembele had set up the shooting chance for James Forrest, Accies ‘keeper Woods did well to touch the effort on to his left-hand post.
Tom Rogic did his best to bring some creative spark to the contest, his clever footwork occasionally threatening to disrupt Hamilton’s rigid but effective game plan. The Australian midfielder’s skill created another opening for Forrest on the right of the penalty area and this time the winger’s shot was deflected wide off Ziggy Gordon.
Hamilton had scarcely crossed the halfway line since the early chance for Miller, but they forced Celtic on to the back foot again in the 29th minute when Steven Boyd forced his way into the box and saw his shot diverted for a corner by Mikael Lustig.
Celtic were soon dominating possession and camping in the Accies half once more and Rogic wasn’t far away with a curling shot from distance after a slick move involving Lustig and Griffiths, pictured left.
Dembele twice came close to breaking the deadlock just before the interval, first of all heading wide from close range after Forrest had picked him out with an inviting cross, then cutting in from the left and clipping the top of the crossbar with a dipping shot from 20 yards.
Celtic tried to inject some much needed urgency into their play at the start of the second half and Callum McGregor should have done better than scoop a shot over after latching onto Kieran Tierney’s cut back.
Opportunities began to occur more regularly for the hosts and Dembele passed up another couple in quick succession. He dragged a shot wide of Woods’ left-hand post after being picked out by the increasingly influential Tierney, then headed over from close range from a Lustig cross.
Having defended so robustly for so long, Accies were now showing signs of vulnerability. Celtic finally found a way through in the 63rd minute from a set piece. Griffiths’ corner from the left was flicked on by Dembele and found its way to Lustig who nodded the ball back across goal to provide Boyata with a simple close-range tap-in.
Boyata’s celebration of his 14th goal in Celtic colours was of the muted variety as he accepted the congratulations of his team-mates, including goalkeeper Gordon who ran the length of the pitch to join the show of unity. In the 77th minute, Boyata should have scored again when, after Accies were again unable to properly clear a corner kick, he scooped a shot over from around 12 yards.
Aside from Aaron McGowan flashing a shot wide for Accies with five minutes remaining, there was little to concern Celtic as they saw the game out in relative comfort to move into second place in the Premiership table.

Dedryck Boyata responded to a fans' banner claiming he was "not fit to wear the jersey" by scoring the only goal as Celtic beat Hamilton.
The Belgian, the subject of a rejected bid from Fulham, ruled himself out of recent games, claiming he was injured.
Manager Brendan Rodgers refuted the defender's claims, and said he was "sad" at the situation.
But Boyata's close range finish earned Celtic the points despite a lacklustre performance from the champions.
The victory moves Celtic into second in the Premiership before next Sunday's Old Firm derby with Rangers.
Before that, Rodgers's side host FK Suduva of Lithuania at Celtic Park on Thursday in the second leg of the Europa League play-off round, having drawn the first leg 1-1.
Hamilton, meanwhile, remain in the bottom half of the table, but will take consolation from the concession of just one goal in two away games after a home humbling by Hearts.Celtic nowhere near their bestJust before kick-off, the earnest section of the Celtic support hoisted an anti-Boyata banner that declared him unfit to wear the jersey. It's just as well as he did.
The Belgian's behaviour has caused understandable anger around the club in recent weeks, but his tap-in finish just after the hour didn't half lift the mood inside the stadium. Leigh Griffiths' corner was flicked on by Moussa Dembele and then headed back across goal by Mikael Lustig for Boyata to poke home.
That was the breakthrough that Celtic had toiled to find. Finally they had broken Hamilton's resistance, not to mind conquered their own lack of accuracy.
They had had moments – plenty of them. Hamilton had survived scares from James Forrest, Callum McGregor and a number of close-run things from Dembele.
The striker – along with Griffiths – got more game-time into his legs. No goals, but the mere fact that he was out there and getting chances will have encouraged his manager.
Celtic were far from free-flowing or impressive, though. Forrest and Kieran Tierney did their best to fire them up, but there was a lack of wit and ruthlessness in trying to cut through a resolute Hamilton. For all their mountains of possession, they were nowhere near their best. They were on different wavelengths too often.
Hamilton manager Martin Canning had cause to be frustrated at the simplicity of the goal, but his side's organisation was good and their spirit was obvious. On the back of their fine win against Motherwell a week ago, this was a day that should give them heart. Boyata, the apparently reluctant Celt, managed to get himself in the right place at the right time to make sure an underwhelming performance still managed to bring three valuable points. After the full-time whistle, the entire Celtic team – including the manager – did a mini-tour of the pitch and wandered down to the end where the banner had been raised. It was conspicuous by its absence.
Where now for Boyata? Heaven knows. Celtic have been linked with the 20-year-old Le Havre centre-back, Harold Moukoudi, but are they really going to let the Belgian go and replace him with another rookie? He might not be the flavour of the month for some Celtic fans, but Rodgers still sees him as his top centre-back. "We're better when he's in the team," he said, pre-match.
Celtic move onwards into a huge week. A Europa League game on Thursday and then Rangers on Sunday. They got through this one. In seven days, when Steven Gerrard brings his team to Parkhead, the occasion promises to be a little more thunderous.

- From the section Celtic
efender Dedryk Boyata "showed his character" by scoring the only goal in the win over Hamilton Academical, says Celtic captain Scott Brown. Some fans unfurled a banner declaring "Boyata – not fit to wear the jersey" following his absence from the team after a bid was rejected from Fulham.
Boyata said he was injured, but manager Brendan Rodgers refuted those claims.
"Everyone in the squad is together, we are all behind him and he wants to play," said Brown.
"He's come in and trained well and he showed his qualities today. He was outstanding. We win together as a team. We get beat together as a team. Everyone is together."
Boyata's only goal of the game was enough to move Celtic into second in the Premiership ahead of a big week for Rodgers' side.
They face FK Suduva on Thursday's in the Europa League play-off round second leg, with the tie locked at 1-1, then welcome Old Firm rivals Rangers on Sunday. No doubts over picking BoyataRodgers was coy on reports that Celtic are interested in 20-year-old Le Havre centre-back, Harold Moukoudi.
However the Celtic manager admitted he is keen to add "one or two" new faces, while also saying of Boyata that his team are "not a squad who can do without a player of that quality".
"He cruised the game as he's a top-class player," Rodgers said of the Belgian. "He made his commitment to the team and he was there for his team-mates today. Everything he did was superb.
"It's not been an easy time for us all in relation to that matter. When we came back from the European game, we had a couple of days where we spoke a lot and knew it was a watershed moment.
"We knew had to go one of two ways, and the players and staff all came out knowing what direction we wanted to go in. From that, everyone was very focused on having another great season."
