Henke_hoops @henke_hoops Nepotism, shite recruitment, re-hiring a manager who left under a cloud, hoarding money, signing hunners of shite players, dishing out 5 year contracts, banning a section of our most fervent supporters….. An absolute shambles of a football club. Run by dinosaurs in comfy seats.
Liam Kelly @cfcliamk96 · 16h Was angry at the board’s lack of ambition with signings for Europe, but this team is good enough to beat spfl sides. Not 1 Kilmarnock player would get in Celtic’s team. So that is on the manager and players. Get rid of Rodgers and bring someone in
Paul John Dykes @PaulJohnDykes · 15h 4 wingers were used today and not one of them created anywhere near enough. Taylor going off resulted in a huge drop-off. What is Bernabei doing at their equaliser? Lack of leadership. Lack of quality. Lack of identity. Too many players in this side don’t look up to the fight.
Inside The SPFL @AgentScotland · 17h It’d be an abomination for football if this Celtic team won anything with how boring they are. Every winger they have is absolutely tragic, the amount of square balls the CB’s play could get football shut down, & I doubt Bernabei would get a game for any other club in the Prem.
Stevie Jackson @bobby__peru · 17h Shambles from top to bottom. We have a complete inability to kill games off and make them comfortable and our defence are always likely to concede something. Another appalling result.
McStay of KDS: Some big saves from Hart again but the guy is a bombscare. No one near him and I mean absolutely no one. Ball harmlessly falling down in front of him. What does he do? Catch it like any normal person would? Nah, why would he do that when he can slice a punch out for a corner instead? Under the cosh and he catches the ball? Why take the sting out the game when you can rush out of your goal and fall on your arse trying to punt it to no one and give them the ball back?
Great ball in from Ralston for the goal but incredibly pish, lazy defending for theirs and he’s not the only lazy one. Both wingers on the pitch at that time had chucked it and let their men just saunter forward to pile the pressure on and get numbers advantage over us on the wings. Lazy chancers.
The two diddies that started on the wing cost us dearly as well. We’d have been out of sight and cruising if they weren’t so pish. Palma when McGregor plays him through is just pathetic. His need to always stop, cut it back on to his right and take an age to do effing anything is a disgrace and don’t get me started on the overrated diddy on the other side. Kyogo plays the pass of the match, puts it right on a plate for Maeda who only needs to knock it back across the six yard box and we score. What does he do? Misses the ball completely and it sails out for a goal kick. I’m done with him and I’m done with the deludamol guzzlers that think he’s an effing player. “We’re better with Maeda in the team”. Aye? What an effing damning indictment of just how truly pish we are then.
Some laugh hearing ‘Lawwell GTF’ chants at the very end of the game btw. Anti-board stuff should be getting an airing from the first minute to the last. No just as a reaction to a late goal against us. I’ve seen more banners aimed at Israel and Police Scotland inside CP than I have anti-board ones this season. Sums it up.
Beaton an absolute disgrace but we expected that. They shamelessly waste time all game. 2 mins added on. Same thing allegedly happens midweek at Ibrox? 5 minutes added on. Will our club finally have the balls to comment on the officiating even just to take the heat off themselves? Will they eff. Enablers.
El salto: I think the anti board chants at the end were a waste of people’s breath, its fecking anti Rodgers chants that are needed
He has to go, that’s the elephant in the room, ffs he should never have been re employed.
The players aren’t playing for him, they look scared, disinterested, totally unfit compared to the opposition most weeks, they do not have a discernable game plan or shape/system whatever you want to call it, either because they refuse to employ it, or they don’t understand what Rodgers wants them to do.
We are a team of powder puff midgets, getting bullied every week by six foot two monsters, who play rigidly to their systems.
The players don’t believe in the manager enough to bust a gut for him, see Matt O’Riley eg, who has checked out for the season

Joe Hart twice saved well from Liam Donnelly and Killie manager Derek McInnes was frustrated his side did not get a penalty for Stephen Welsh’s sliding challenge on Marley Watkins.
Neither referee John Beaton nor video assistant Willie Collum were convinced by Watkins’ appeals but it looked a risky challenge.

Celtic had left-back Greg Taylor back from a calf injury while Israel international Liel Abada was still absent.
Derek McInnes make four changes for Kilmarnock as Kyle Vassell returned to the starting XI.
Watkins saw a header saved from an early chance.
Adam Idah was showing some good touches up front for Celtic and one flick paved the way for Callum McGregor to play in Luis Palma. The winger had options but chose to cut inside and goalkeeper Will Dennis came out to block his shot.
The breakthrough came in the 32nd minute when Anthony Ralston ended a spell of tight passing as he noticed Furuhashi peeling off Joe Wright to the back post. The right-back floated a perfect ball for the Japanese striker to loop the ball home.

Killie responded well and twice threatened following Danny Armstrong crosses. Hart stopped Donnelly’s close-range header and then Watkins went down clutching his ankle after Welsh’s sliding penalty-box challenge.
Referee John Beaton waved play on and the game continued after a short delay following the next stoppage.
Celtic had chances to ease the tension. McGregor shot over and Matt O’Riley was denied twice by Dennis and once by Corrie Ndaba’s goalline clearance.
Taylor was replaced by Bernabei on the hour mark in what looked a pre-planned move.
Killie sensed there was something to take from the game with Armstrong at the centre of much of their attacking play.

Donnelly met the winger’s inswinging free-kick and powered a header which Hart pushed over. Armstrong then had a chance of his own but mis-kicked a shot wide when Ndaba’s cross found him beyond the back post.
Celtic got back on top but substitute Paulo Bernardo shot over from 14 yards after getting the chance to make it a more comfortable final 10 minutes.
The home crowd grew audibly more anxious and Watson missed from close range before getting space at the back post to head into the bottom corner.
Celtic threw men forward but it was the visitors who came closer to a last-gasp winner when Murray broke and fired a low shot which Hart got down to save.
Rodgers: It’s happened too many times
Please use Chrome browser for a more accessible video player
Brendan Rodgers has criticised his Celtic side for being ‘too safe’ and ‘too negative’ in their 1-1 home draw with Kilmarnock, but insists his squad will do all they can to bounce back in the title race.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers speaking to Sky Sports:
“It looked like we were going to get away with a great result without a good performance, but we didn’t get either by the end. It was a disappointing performance from us.
“We had some moments in the first half but nowhere near enough then in the second half we created the anxiety ourselves.
“People have talked about the support, but today was nothing about the supporters. Today our play was too safe, too negative and then we invite pressure.
“When you’re at 1-0 of course you can invite the pressure and the goal we concede is very disappointing.
“It’s happened too many times, it’s not as if it’s just today, so we have to go away and analyse it and look to get ready for the next game.
“The mind is the key at this point in the season. It’s really disappointing today, it will be for a few days but then we’ve got to go again as we can’t afford to be dropping too many more points.
“It doesn’t matter what other teams do, you can only control your own performance.
“We’re very much focused on ourselves, there’s nothing we can do that can affect Rangers or Hearts or Kilmarnock.”
McInnes praises Killie ‘belief’

Derek McInnes on Kilmarnock’s dramatic 1-1 draw at Celtic and his delight with the level of performance from his team.
Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes:
“I take belief from my players. They’ve got to believe they can come here and be as good as we were in the game.
“I thought we were a bit unlucky to go in [at the break] 1-0 down. Although Celtic have a lot of the possession they didn’t really work our goalkeeper much.
“We felt a bit sorry for ourselves but we also knew there were opportunities there for us.
“We’ve got good options from the bench and you see the strength of that and we had a game plan to work for 60 to 65 minutes then change the freshness at the top of the pitch and go and try and get something from the game.
“It was a great moment when wee Davie equalises and there is a wee sense that maybe we could have had a bit more than the point.”
Celtic engineered their own downfall
Celtic’s Anthony Ralston and Callum McGregor look dejected at full time against Kilmarnock
Image: Celtic’s Anthony Ralston and Callum McGregor look dejected at full time against Kilmarnock
Sky Sports’ Mark Benstead at Celtic Park:
“There were boos at full time.
“As with games against St Johnstone and Motherwell here this season, Celtic have failed to kill a team off and paid the price.
“Celtic gave away a string of free kicks in their own half and the anxiety levels inside Celtic Park increased with each one.
“Kilmarnock worked hard and were positive though, and probably deserved their point.
“Derek McInnes is building a really decent Killie side and the way they approached today and the quality of the subs that came on underlined that.”
Celtic: What has gone wrong under Brendan Rodgers?

‘It’s not a one-off. It’s happened too many times’
Celtic lost two points at home the whole of last season on their way to the Scottish league title under Ange Postecoglou. After Saturday’s nervy 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock, they have already dropped nine.
It is a stark statistic that led BBC Scotland’s chief sports writer, Tom English, to suggest that “Brendan Rodgers is not doing his stuff” in his second spell as manager.
The Northern Irishman himself admits there have been “too many” poor performances as they have let slip a commanding seven-point lead over city rivals Rangers.
Philippe Clement’s side have the chance to leapfrog the reigning champions at the top of the Scottish Premiership when they visit St Johnstone on Sunday, but what has gone wrong at Celtic Park?
Late Killie equaliser hands Celtic title blow
‘We have to be more aggressive’
Rodgers has previously voiced his disappointment at Celtic’s recent dealings in the transfer market, but he concentrated his current squad’s inadequacies in explaining a home draw for which “I take responsibility for”.
“The performance level was nowhere near what we’d want,” he told BBC Scotland. “It looked like we’d get away with it, win 1-0 and get a good result but a poor performance. But it was neither. So very disappointing.
“It’s the nature of how we conceded – it’s not the first time. We’ve been in the situation a number of times now where we’ve been in front and not taken opportunities to extend the lead and then we’ve given ourselves anxiety and given the opposition to something to hang on to.”
Rodgers was at one with the supporters who voiced their disappointment from the stands.
Reaction to Kilmarnock’s late goal on BBC Radio Scotland’s Sportsound
“It’s not a one-off – it’s happened too many times,” he said. “When you look at how the team’s being doing from an analysis perspective, the defensive side has been the one area where there’s been a drop.”
Rodgers points to the continued absence of key centre-half Cameron Carter-Vickers, while right-back Alistair Johnston has been added to the injury list.
“That aside, we have to be harder to beat at times,” he said. “We have to be more aggressive. To see out a game, you have to be able to do that. It’s just happened too many times.
“We invited pressure, especially in the second half, [we were] not progressing the ball quickly enough through the team.”
Rodgers now thinks the title race is “going to be tight”.
“There’s still a long way to go and I’m sure it’ll be to and fro between now and the very last game,” he said. “I said it was never going to be a procession. I’ve had to fight throughout my career and this is another great challenge.”
Celtic lost aura of invincibility
Former Scotland midfielder Michael Stewart believes that, from a position where Celtic should have the league won by now considering their city rivals had to ditch manager Michael Beale, “we’re in a position now where Rangers are the favourites”.
“Celtic in the end looked like the away side,” he said of the draw with Kilmarnock. “They looked dead on their feet. They were hanging on. Credit to Kilmarnock because they got the sense of that as well.”
Stewart suggested that the advantage Celtic have in the quality of their squad and intimidation provided by the size of their support “very quickly starts to crumble when the opposition get a sense of things are not going well and I think that’s where Celtic are now”.
The former Heart of Midlothian and Hibernian midfielder thought the January transfer window was a “missed opportunity” for Celtic to bolster the squad with real quality.
“It takes a long time to build that invincibility,” he told BBC Radio Scotland’s Sportsound. “It can disappear very quickly and that’s what’s happened here. Brendan Rodgers will be scratching his head wondering what else he can do.
“The thing that struck me with Celtic under Brendan Rodgers the first time round was the intensity. They never let up, but if you watch them now, they don’t have intense players.”
Fellow pundit English believes there have been “bad mistakes” at boardroom level, with “recruitment virtually non-existent, but Brendan Rodgers does not get a pass”.
“Celtic fans have an expectation,” he said. “They are used to having great fun mocking Rangers, but there’s no laughing matter for them now and they don’t like it.
‘Could see this coming – they are insipid, slow and predictable’ – Celtic fan Chris Burley
“Brendan Rodgers, even though he hasn’t had the players in he wanted, he still has enough firepower in this squad to get better results and performances out of this team and he’s not doing it.
“He should not be immune from criticism. It’s not all on the board. Maybe a lot of it is, but Brendan Rodgers is not doing his stuff.”
English thinks the malaise is also at boardroom level.
“Celtic have picked some fights with the media over very little this season – similar to what Rangers did under previous administrations and it could be argued it’s illustrative of a club that’s lost its focus,” he said.
“Poor summer transfer window, poor January transfer window, Rodgers asking for quality players publicly and not getting them, Rodgers coming over as a pale shadow of the vibrant manager of his previous spell, team looking vulnerable and big players going backwards in terms of form. And a better Rangers.”
While some Celtic fans might be calling for a change of manager, the BBC pundits disagree.
“It would cost a lot of money and would send the distress flares over Glasgow,” English added. “They have got to stick with him and hope he finds something more from these guys.”

Kilmarnock’s David Watson scores
David Watson (right) headed his second goal of the season at Celtic Park
Kilmarnock again proved a thorn in Celtic’s side as a stoppage-time equaliser from David Watson prevented the champions from moving three points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Derek McInnes’ visitors were seeking an unprecedented third win over the Glasgow side in a single season.
His side again proved tricky opponents but were undone when Celtic found a rare moment of space inside the box and the unmarked Kyogo Furuhashi scored with a precise header.
Both sides had their chances after the break as the Celtic players and crowd became increasingly frustrated, before substitute Watson rose to head past goalkeeper Joe Hart – a goal awarded after a VAR check.
Rodgers and his reigning champions will now be looking more nervously over their shoulders, with Rangers having a chance to overtake them at the top when they face St Johnstone on Sunday.
Kilmarnock, meanwhile, are unbeaten in six and are two points clear of St Mirren in fourth.
“While it was 1-0, the belief was always there,” said manager Derek McInnes. “We had belief something was going to land for us.
“There’s a sense in the dressing room we could’ve won it, but we’ll take a point at Celtic Park. We were good value for that. It wasn’t a smash and grab.”

With the return of Danny Armstrong, Kilmarnock lined up with two wingers and McInnes admitted he had been “brave” with his formation in an attempt to pose a threat to the home defence.
His tactics had already worked twice at Rugby Park this season – once in the league and once in the League Cup – but winning in the east end of Glasgow was always going to be a tougher task.
Kilmarnock did manage the first sight at goal, only for Marley Watkins to head straight at Hart.
At the other end, the visitors’ formation was limiting sights at goal, although goalkeeper Will Dennis did deny Luis Palma from point-blank range.
Celtic needed patience and they were finally rewarded after pinging the ball from side to side at the edge of the penalty box before Tony Ralston’s cross found Kyogo lurking unmarked at the back post to provide a typical clinical finish.
Kilmarnock responded by forcing a Hart save to deny Liam Donnelly and had a penalty shout denied when Stephen Welsh tackled Watkins.
However, it was Celtic who went closest to adding to the scoreline just before half time when Dennis parried a Matt O’Riley shot and the midfielder’s header on the rebound was cleared off the line by Corrie Nbada.
O’Riley was again denied after the break as Dennis dived full length to push away the Denmark midfielder’s side-foot from 10 yards.
Donnelly, too, was the victim of a second fine save as Hart did well to parry the midfielder’s powerful header over the crossbar, then Armstrong kicked thin air when found unmarked at the back post.
Watson and Fraser Murray had been dropped to the bench, but the young duo were sent on to devastating effect, with the former having already found the side netting before meeting his fellow midfielder’s fine cross to the far post.
A draw was enough to stir the home crowd into a chorus of boos and it could have been worse, with Murray having a chance to secure that third win of the season over Celtic as he broke clear only to fire straight at Hart.

Worrying times for Rodgers but Killie continue to grow – analysis
It’s worrying times for Celtic, Rodgers and their expectant fans.
They had managed to stay top of the table thanks to a string of victories despite some frustration in the stands about performances.
Now, though, the pressure is on after a rare stumble at home and the possibility of being overtaken by their city rivals 24 hours later.
Yes, Celtic had the chances to extend their lead before Kilmarnock’s equaliser, but it could have been worse had the visitors also been more clinical and Rodgers will have some thinking to do about how to improve his stuttering side.
McInnes again proved to be an astute handler of Celtic’s current tactics and his side continue to go from strength to strength.
Two points clear of St Mirren after the Paisley side lost away to bottom side Livingston, Kilmarnock are now in a strong position to clinch fourth place behind Hearts.
What they said
‘It’s not a one-off. It’s happened too many times’
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers: “The performance level was nowhere near what we’d want. It looked like we’d get away with it. Very disappointing.
“It’s the nature of how we conceded, it’s not the first time. It’s not a one-off, it’s happened too many times. But there’s still a long way to go. Every title is there to fight for, we’re still there to do that. I totally get the reaction of the supporters.”
Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes: “We came with an attacking team. The reason I picked that was to carry that threat and have a punch in us.
“We had to suffer a wee bit in terms of possession in the first half, but we felt a wee bit hard done-by by the fact we go in 1-0 down. That said, while they had a lot of possession, it was a lot of their players who we wanted to be in possession.”
