Review
An afternoon of torrential rain in Paisley so Celtic fail to take any of the numerous chances made in the 90 minutes, the goal coming from a comical error by the otherwise excellent Campbell Money. St Mirren came back strongly in the second half and scored an excellent goal but Celtic missed further chances, in particular from Paul McStay and Frank McAvennie. With the regular penalty taker (Andy Walker) out, it fell to McAvennie to take the last-gasp spot kick and he hit it too close to Money who made the save. A vital point dropped in the title race, allowing Hearts and Rangers to close the gap to three and four points respectively.
