Biog
Tadg Moriarty was a young right sided defender signed by the club on a full time contract in July 1997. He was given a contract initially to July 1999.
Moriarty had progressed to the club by the usual route through the Celtic Boys Club – this time the East variant based in Edinburgh. He signed an ‘S’-Form with the club in the 1994-95 season playing for the U-14’s through to U-16’s and made a first appearance with the Youths squad as a sub on 20/04/97.
Once on the books full time he made regular appearances for the Youth squad with occasional Reserve squad games in his first season. In his second season he appeared to regress starting off with the U-21 squad but finishing the season with the U-18’s. He survived the great cull at the end of the 1998-99 season and did enough to impress with the award of a further 2 year extension to his contract to July 2001. He was also part of an U-18 squad taken to the Daimler Chrysler U-18 Indoor 6’s in Stuttgart. 1999-00 was spent playing solidly with the U-21 squad as an 18 year old. The following season he played rather sporadically but made representative appearances in the two club benefits played for Derry City and Morton. He was released two weeks before the end of the season.
He joined Stirling Albion under the management of Ray Stewart and ex-Celt Mark McNally and made 17 appearances but was released at the end of the season. He joined Senior side Edinburgh City at Meadowbank Stadium and was with them from 2002 until the end of the 2005-06 season winning an East of Scotland Premier League title with them in the 2005-06 season and being selected for the East of Scotland League Select in 2004.
Since 2006 he has played for Arniston Rangers at Musselburgh Stadium in the East Region Premier League.
