Bryan Prunty first came to notice in the U15 Celtic Pro Youth Development squad of season 1998/99. He was seen as an outstanding prospect and played also with the U16 squad at the age of 14. He broke into the Youth squad as a 15 year old with a sub appearance in late March scoring the winning goal against Rangers and was included in the BP Youth Cup squad in 1999.
1999-00 was his first as a Pro with the Club and he made a reasonable number of U18 appearances, fewer in the latter part of the season when he may have been injured. By 2000-01 he was playing in both Youth and Reserve squad games and was top scorer for the Youths.
During 2002-03 he was included in Rainer Bonhof's Young Scotland side.
During 2003-04 he was part of the first team squad but playing far more U21 games and siting on the bench. When it became clear that he didn't really stand a chance of breaking into the first team with the strikers already at the club he requested a transfer and was released by Martin O'Neill.

He joined Aberdeen on a free transfer where once again he found himself as more of a bench-sitter than a first pick striker. He made 18 appearances scoring 2 goals but was released at the end of the season.
He joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle at the start of 2004-05 but failed to hit scoring form manageing only 2 goals throughout the season (the non-goals included a glaring miss against Rangers at Inverness).
New season – new club. At the start of 2005-06 Bryan moved again to Airdrie Utd. Here he became a valued player and regular first team pick.
When his contract was up at the end of June 2008 he moved to Ayr Utd for 08/09. He was top scorer in League Division 2 that season helping Ayr Utd to promotion to League Division 1 through the play-offs at the end of the season.

He continued to play for Ayr Utd. till 15th January 2010 when he was released by the club. He was on loan at Stirling Albion before organising a move to Alloa where he teamed up again with his old strike partner from his time at Airdrie, Stuart Noble.
