Review

Played at Celtic Park, Raeside started for the Abercorn, who had a strong sun in their faces. Following a smart attack, Naughton scored for the Celtic, and five minutes later Coleman repeated. These reverses spurred on the Abercorn, and after a deal of open play, Buchanan found an opening, and from a corner kick soon after the game was equalised. At half-time the score was unaltered, and on resuming, play became faster. The Abercorn showed up well at this stage, and Raeside, their centre, gave them the lead. Groves did not get on very well in the centre, and dropped into half-back, Coleman falling into centre, and Dowds partnering Maley on the left. The change worked better, and Dunbar, from a clever bit of play by Maley, again piloted the leather past Duff. The game continued to be equally contested to the close, the final result being a draw – 4 goals each.
