Review
Celtic went ahead when Welsh and Mochan both went up to head a free kick and the ball slid off the Airdrie man and beat Beaton in goal. Airdrie pulled one back through Rankin from a Stewart pass and ex-Celt Jim Sharkey nearly put Airdrie ahead shortly before half time.
Airdrie started the second period well with Fallon having to make a good save from Ormond before Stewart beat him with a shot. Mochan equalised on 65 minutes with a shot from a Crerand throw in. Now at level pegging Airdrie appeared to collapse and Stevie Chalmers scored three goals, the pick being his second, a crisp 18 yard shot.
