Trivia
- The air of gloom hanging over the club was extended after the result against Third Lanark. It was felt that Celtic needed to sign an experienced inside forward – precisely what they had tried to do the previous season without success.
- Aberdeen were going through a rough time. They only stayed in the Division with a good run of games at the end of the season and they ended the season financially in the red. This season they had started reasonably well and were above Celtic in the table.
- A changed front line. back in came Jim Conway with Carroll moving to centre forward. Also in came Charlie Gallacher for Chalmers with John Hughes dropping out.
Review
Plenty of chances in the first half but all the accurate shooting boots appeared to have been left in the changing room. Fallon was busier than Ogston. Described as 'a very poor half'.
The second half continued in the same vein. neither side looked like scoring in a dull and dreary affair.
