Review
A dull and lifeless game. Frank Brogan got Celtic's first goal of the season. The left wing of Turner – Brogan appeared to trouble Queens. With close to half an hour gone McDonald of QotS played a one-two and beat Haffey with a decent shot. The terraces were silent. Two minutes later when Hughes was dispossessed by the goalkeeper when readying to shoot the slow handclaps and whistling started around the ground. When the teams went off there was an outburst of booing which was directed as much at the directors box as at the team.
The second half was even duller than the first.
After the game the demonstrations continued with chants of "We want Kelly". The police were forced to intervene and several arrests were made.
