Review
The game started slowly and poorly with both sides showing little connection between front and back and the passing being woeful. But the game changed in character on the half hour mark when Jimmy Johnstoner hit the post with the Jags defense well beaten. From the resulting corner Divers scored with a 25 yard shot. Celtic then took the upper hand for the rest of the half without scoring.
In the second half Duffy scored a well-worked goal for Thistle with a cross from Cowan being headed back across goal by Hainey from Duffy to head into the top corner. Cowan then doubled the score and it was Partick's turn to dominate. Celtic however managed to equalisde when Hughes won a ball and crossed for Murdoch to shoot home from 20 yards.
