- Pat Stanton signs for Celtic and takes a bow in front of the fans at half time. Stanton was signed in the afternoon with Jackie McNamara headed in the other direction to Easter Road. Stanton is unable to play in the League Cup for Celtic as he was cup tied with Hibs.

Review
Celtic had a vastly superior goal difference going into the game and had by all rights qualified. Technically they needed a point to be certain.
The game was played in that kind of spirit.
