Review
Celtic started well and finished strongly but their mid match slump gives the fans some concern. Glavin linked well with Craig and already looked an improved player after last season's poor showing. Glavins opener was a superb goal created by link play from Dalglish and Doyle. Hearts equalised from the spot after Lynch was adjudged to have pushed Callachan over in the area. Busby made no mistake from the spot. The remainder of the first half played out and at half time the score was 1-1.
Hearts started the second half more aggressively and a header from Busby to Shaw saw him finish with a low shot past Latchford. Both sides now embarked on a tough and captivating game with Celtic fighting hard for the equaliser. It came 10 minutes from time. Stanton floated in a free kick, Craig got his head to the ball and Cruickshank and McCluskey clashed before the young Celt had the ball in the net. The entire Hearts team protested looking for a foul on the keeper but the goal stood.
Hearts played well and impressed everyone with their attacking play. The game was a deserved draw for both sides.
