- Highlights shown on Scotsport next day.
- On the same day Celtic Reserves lost 3 – 0 to Rangers Reserves at Celtic Park in the Second Eleven Cup. The Celtic team was Baines, Sneddon, Russell, McGrain, Casey, Weir, Doyle, Lumsden, O'Donnell, McPhee, Godzik Subs Ward and Halpin.
Review
Celtic never recovered from Kopel's first minute call and the fine early season form is fast disappearing. Latchford was late getting down to a Kopel shot and the ball got through. That was the trigger for a fierce game. Despite pushing Celtic could not find a goal and also had two penalty appeals turned down. The Arabs also had their chances and Latchford made amends for the opener by making a string of good saves.
