Review

Danny McGrain was suspended and Celtic missed his leadership and guidance. Davie Provan was only fit enough for a place on the bench. Only when Provan arrived as a sub did Celtic look more like themselves.

There were six minutes left in an otherwise forgettable game when George McCluskey scored a goal of the highest calibre.

The ball had broke to him in the penalty area and he took it in his stride, beat one man, drew Alan Rough from his line and drove the ball home from a tight angle. The goal had the Celtic fans in raptures and McCluskey was cheered loudly from the field at the final whistle for his inspirational play.
