Michael Cairns was born in Ireland. He was a writer (lawyer), a father and a tailor
He was on the first celtic commitee
In 1890, he stood for election in the 10th ward, but before the election pulled out the race. He latterly wrote a letter to the Herald complaining about the alleged inference involving Celtic in his political life (Celtic had no part in it).
