The Biscuit Tin Pact
The article below is the front page article from the Celtic View of April 1st 1992 following an EGM of shareholders. The club was still two years away from takeover but despite the spin of the article the turmoil at board level was well underway.
This was a big issue. This pact in itself created a block vote that hindered any hinge, and effectively made the future of the club to be in the hands of one or two people directing to the rest. This pact was seen as self-serving, and was the major hindrance to a more speedy takeover. If anything, it was this deal that ensured the club was pushed to the brink of administration.
