Title: Bernie Bhoy & The Thai Tims
Author: Paul Lennon
Published: 2013
Thai Tims: link
Synopsis
This book begins with the birth of Bernard Lennon. When our son was born with Down syndrome, our world was turned upside down. There were no celebrations when Berni came into the world.
This story covers ten years of Berni’s life; it’s an emotional journey with the heartfelt tragedies of Reamonn, Non & Ton and the wonderful triumph of the Thai Tims singing on the pitch at Celtic Park. Tears dropped onto my keyboard as words became sentences, and led to pages which tell of a real-life fairy-tale where rejected children find a place at school.
It was never meant to be a published book. I wrote it as a free download link on the internet, in the hope that it could promote and raise awareness of our charity work, and perhaps help other parents of children with special needs. The posters of the Huddleboard, a Celtic internet forum, rallied together to make this charity book possible.
I would like to thank all the Celtic supporters and Celtic Football Club for their help and support through the years. My thanks also go to all the folks that are not Celtic fans that have also supported the children.
Berni wasn’t just born into the Lennon family, he was born into the Celtic family, and that is what has made the difference in our lives.
Hail! Hail!
Paul Lennon
