Celtic Career Review
Irish youth international winger who moved to Celtic in 2005 after three years at crack Dublin nursery team, Belvedere FC.
A definitively left sided player, Cahillane quickly moved up from the youth team to the reserves but appeared to suffer from Strachan's foible of insisting his wingers play on their weaker side. From his position on the right he struggled to maintain his form and left the club in 2008, swiftly returning to the Irish mainland.
And it appears that Mayo-born but Portlaoise-bred Cahillane has since returned to his first love of GAA sports with Portlaoise.
Albeit he made two brief sub appearances for UCD in late October and Early November 2008, and undoubtedly possesses the talent to carve out a career in soccer should he so wish.
